With careful, delicate steps, Tip stalked through the tall grasses of the meadow, searching for any signs of prey, whatever it might be. As she creeped through the yellowing grass, she was sure to keep well-hidden, with only the brown highlights of her ears and the pearl tip of her tail sailing high above her body. She pushed the grass aside using her nose in swift, sharp movements.

Every now and again, the near silence was broken with the rustling of a small rodent, who's life was not worth taking to satisfy her growing hunger. Her shining, crystal blue orbs scanned the land before her, hoping that she'd spot a young, plump deer fawn, or at least an elk calf.

Suddenly, the grass began to stir in front of her, making the grass rustle loudly. She lowers her frame, now completly hidden, and watches, ears perked forward and nose twitching madly. The familiar scent of a hare clouded her nose, making her shake with hunger and excitement.

With a low growl, she spots the hare leap out in front of her. It meerly twitches it's whiskers, appearing as though it hadn't noticed her yet. With a yelping bark, she leaps forward without any hesitation, and snaps repeatidly with her saliva-covered fangs shining in the sunlight. The hare suddenly flew forward in panick, only now realising she had been there, watching, waiting for this moment. Tip launched herself forward, determined to catch this furry little morsel as it sped away into the grasses, with her loping in tow.

She had come here just a few days ago, starving and weak, after many weeks of travelling and eating scraps from sodden carcasses and the odd rodent. Since she'd been here, in this haven of food and shelter, she'd eaten well on any hares and young hoofed-animals that had been caught, with much ease. Nothing could escape her powerful little jaws, not even the clumsy deer fawn she'd caught the previous evening, so why should a hare be any different?

As the chase between predator and prey continued, the hare slipped on a dusty, bare patch of earth. It's high pitched squeal echoed out in the large field before dying down. Tip's jaws were firmly locked around the animal's throat, squeezing tighter and tighter. It would have gotten away, if it hadn't become careless and slipped like that. Moments later, she lifted her head, a smug smile spread across her face as she carried the small, yet hefty prize away, towards the make-shift nest she had made amongs some small pine trees.

Settling among the leaf litter of her untidy little nest, she began to strip the hare's wiry skin from it's carcass, as to get to the juicy, tender meat inside.

The nest was constructed from shattered pine tree branches and dried, dead leaves which she had gathered from the trees surrounding the meadow shortly after she arrived here. So far, this place had been a wonderful home. She hadn't come across any other wolves or predators, so she had first pick of the prey that roamed the area. But now, it seemed that she should carry on her journey to find a pack, or at least someone who she could stay with.

With a gentle sigh, she finished the meat from the hare carcass, leaving a torn-back scrap of fuzz-covered skin and small, frail bones and stood up. She was determined to find others. She could possibly be the only wolf here, could she?

Turning her small head, she gazed at the land that had kept her safe for the past few days, then, bounded away in search of others...
